White Country Sourdough

Spent barley grains used to make beer -> Sourdough bread

Ingredients: organic bread flour, unbleached bread flour, water, salt, brewery barley, non-commercial sourdough starter

Description

Compared to our Seed-crusted sourdough, our White Country Sourdough has a subtle sour taste, 30% whole grains, and no seeds.

Our 48-hour, 100% naturally-leavened process enhances flavour and nutritional value, promotes digestion and increases shelf life.

100% of our flour is grown in Ontario and its integrity is maintained through our traditional stone milling technique.

But our uniqueness comes from incorporating spent barley grains that have been used to make beer. By enjoying our spent goods, you are directly helping to reduce greenhouse gases.

100% Plant-Based (no eggs, no dairy)
100% Halal (we recover the barley before yeast is added that converts it into beer)
NO preservatives or additives

Upcycled in Toronto by Belle’s Bakery with leftover barley grains from Henderson Brewing Co.

Shelf life at room temperature – 4 days or freeze up to 3 months

We believe you can do something about climate change (and your health), one slice at a time.”
